NCBA Golf Series Uganda Qualifiers Conclude as Tumusiime, Cwinyaai Book Nairobi Tickets
GOLF;
NCBA Bank Uganda has concluded the Ugandan leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, with Michael Tumusiime and Joseph Cwinyaai qualifying for the regional Grand Finale in Nairobi, Kenya.

Tumusiime emerged as the overall winner of the second Uganda qualifier at Entebbe Club after scoring 75 nett, earning his place at the Grand Finale scheduled for 27 November 2026 at Karen Country Club.

He joins Cwinyaai, who won the opening Uganda qualifier at Uganda Golf Club on 13 June after carding an impressive two-under 70.

Both golfers have earned all-expenses-paid trips to Nairobi, including travel, accommodation and meals, where they will compete against golfers from across East Africa.

Speaking at the tournament, NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer Mark Muyobo said the bank’s investment in golf is focused on growing the sport, nurturing talent and creating opportunities for Ugandan golfers to compete at regional level.

«“Our commitment to golf goes beyond the tournaments. Through the NCBA Golf Series and Junior Golf Series, we are contributing to the growth of the sport by providing platforms for both established and emerging golfers to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and access opportunities beyond their local courses.”»

As part of its wider Change the Story initiative, NCBA also partnered with Vision Child Healthcare and Education Initiative to donate 50 household water filters to vulnerable families in Kasenyi Landing Site ahead of the Entebbe qualifier.

The initiative aims to improve access to safe drinking water and reduce exposure to waterborne diseases among fishing communities that rely on untreated lake water.

Muyobo commended Entebbe Club, participating golfers, partners and the NCBA team for supporting the success of the Ugandan qualifiers, while encouraging the two qualifiers to represent Uganda with pride in Nairobi.

The regional Grand Finale will bring together qualifiers from across NCBA’s participating East African markets to compete for honours and celebrate the continued growth of golf in the region.
