Keisha, Harsshitha and Komugisha to Represent Uganda at 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy in Abuja
The Uganda Ladies Golf Union (ULGU) has officially flagged off the Uganda Ladies National Golf Team ahead of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), scheduled for November 2 - 7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, Nigeria.

Uganda will be represented by; Keisha Kagoro, Harsshitha Loganathan and Judith Komugisha, who will carry the country's hopes at one of Africa's premier women's amateur golf competitions.

The tournament brings together leading national teams from across the continent, providing a platform for golfers to showcase their talent, gain international experience and compete at the highest level of amateur golf.

Team Uganda heads to Abuja with renewed confidence, backed by its preparation and the growing momentum of women's golf in the country.

Komugisha Ready to Lead Team Uganda

Team captain Judith Komugisha expressed confidence in the team's readiness, saying the players have gained valuable experience that will be important as they pursue a successful campaign in Abuja.

“As team captain, I am ready to lead the team and do my best to ensure we have a successful tournament. We have gained good experience so far, and I believe that will help us as we prepare to compete against some of the best teams in Africa,” Komugisha said.

She will be expected to provide leadership and guidance as the three-player team takes on the continental challenge, with Uganda aiming to make a strong impression at the championship.

For Harsshitha Loganathan, selection to the national team marks a significant milestone in her golfing journey, as she prepares to make her first appearance for Uganda at a major international team competition.

Loganathan described the opportunity as a dream come true and said she was ready to embrace the challenge while looking forward to representing the country in more major tournaments in the future.

“Representing Uganda on the national team is a dream come true for me. I am ready for the challenge and looking forward to giving my best in Abuja. Since this is my first time representing Uganda at this level, I am excited about the opportunity and hope to continue representing my country in major tournaments,” Loganathan said.

Her selection reflects the Union's efforts to provide emerging golfers with opportunities to gain international exposure and develop their competitive experience.

Uganda Ladies Golf Union President Rita Apell Akot highlighted the significance of the All Africa Challenge Trophy to the Union, describing it as one of the major competitions on its calendar.

“This is one of the major tournaments that the Uganda Ladies Golf Union values most. It gives our players an important opportunity to represent the country, compete against other top players on the continent and gain experience that will contribute to their development,” Apell said.

The Union views participation in the championship as an important part of its wider strategy to strengthen women's golf and create more opportunities for Ugandan players to compete internationally.

This year's team selection also marks another step in the continued development of the Uganda Golf Union's (UGU) High Performance Programme, which aims to strengthen the pathway from player development to national representation.

Through the programme, the golf leadership is working to provide talented players with structured preparation, competitive exposure and a clearer route towards representing Uganda at regional, continental and international competitions.

The initiative is intended to build a stronger pool of players capable of competing consistently at the highest levels while supporting the long-term growth of women's and junior golf.

ULGU continues to work closely with golf clubs across the country to provide national team members and High Performance players with access to training facilities, coaching and competitive opportunities.

The Union has also acknowledged the contribution of the Uganda Golf Union, golf clubs, partners, sponsors, coaches, families and the wider golf community in supporting the growth and development of ladies' golf in Uganda.

Uganda's participation in the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy reflects the Union's commitment to developing talent, strengthening the national player pathway and positioning the country to compete more strongly on the continental stage.

With Komugisha providing leadership, Kagoro bringing her contribution to the team and Loganathan embracing her first opportunity to represent Uganda at this level, the team will be looking to make the most of its experience in Abuja.
