HOIMA — September 12, 2026:
Kitara FC have taken another major step in their continental journey, eliminating Somalia’s Mogadishu City Council 4–1 on aggregate to advance to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Royals progressed with a convincing 2–0 victory in the second leg, following a 2–1 win in the first leg, securing a 4–1 aggregate victory.
Both legs of the tie were played at Hoima City Stadium. The venue hosted both sides across the two matches, with Mogadishu City Council using the Hoima facility as their home ground for the first leg.
Kitara entered the second leg with a narrow advantage but showed little interest in simply protecting their lead.
In the first leg, Jimmy Kalema scored twice after Mogadishu City Council had taken the lead.
Kitara FC will now face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the next round.
