Women at the Heart of the Corporate Games Ahead of the Corporate Run
All sixth outing of the Corporate Games brought Uganda’s corporate community together in Butabika at the Jeph International University grounds for sport, teamwork, friendship and entertainment, as companies continued to compete across a range of sporting activities.

Swimming and basketball were among the activities took centre stage during the sixth outing, adding to a growing list of sports that have featured throughout the Corporate Games. Previous outings have seen corporate teams compete in darts, athletics, golf, football and other activities, creating opportunities for employees to step away from their usual office routines and connect in a different environment.

But beyond the competition, the Corporate Games have increasingly become a celebration of people.

Women in Sport: Women have been particularly visible throughout the Corporate Games journey, taking part in the sporting activities, supporting their colleagues from the sidelines and contributing to the organisation and coordination of the events.

Their presence has added colour, energy and enthusiasm to the Games, with women taking on different roles as competitors, organisers and cheerleaders.

Whether on the playing field, around the swimming pool or cheering for their colleagues, their participation has helped create the lively atmosphere that has become part of the Corporate Games experience.

The Games have therefore become more than an opportunity to win medals or trophies. They have provided a platform for colleagues to build relationships, encourage one another and strengthen teamwork outside the workplace.

From games to a bigger purpose: As the Corporate Games continue, attention now turns to the next major event - the Corporate Run 2026, scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at NEC Grounds, Bugolobi.

The run will carry a purpose beyond fitness and competition: supporting expectant mothers through Mama Kits.

The initiative seeks to use the power of Uganda's corporate community to provide practical support to mothers as they prepare to give birth.

For many participants who have spent the year competing, cheering and building teams through the Corporate Games, the Corporate Run offers an opportunity to turn that same collective energy into social impact.

The message is simple: the Games bring people together, but the Run gives them a chance to give back.

From swimming and basketball to darts, chess and golf, the Corporate Games have shown that sport can create connections across Uganda's corporate community.

Now, those connections will come together once again - this time, with every step taken in support of a mother.

On October 11, the corporate community will not just run for fitness. It will run for expectant mothers.
