Irish Society of Uganda Supports Kakira Rugby Club Age-Grade Programmes
Rigby Youth Development
Kakira Rugby Club has received generous financial support from the Irish Society of Uganda towards its rugby academy and age-grade development programmes.

The support will help strengthen the Club’s existing grassroots rugby activities, including its weekend programme, school-based rugby engagements in eight primary schools and two secondary schools, as well as activities at the Club’s three rugby camps in Kakira.

Through this support, Kakira Rugby Club will continue providing children and young people with regular opportunities to learn, play and develop through rugby in a safe, positive and inclusive environment.

The programmes go beyond rugby, helping young people develop important values such as discipline, teamwork, confidence, leadership and respect, while encouraging positive use of their time.

Kakira Rugby Club is grateful to the Irish Society of Uganda for supporting its efforts and believing in the potential of children and young people in Kakira.

The support will run through 2027, giving the Club an opportunity to further strengthen and re-energise its existing rugby programmes.
